Hello, Everyone! May 19, 2023

We held a meeting, May 17, to discuss options for our 45th reunion. After weighing all options, dates, costs, and locations, we decided to do something totally different and fun for our 45th reunion... Although we won’t be skipping school for the home opener, like some of us did 45 years ago, we thought it might be fun to take in another game together, socialize in a suite, and see some fireworks, all at our home ballpark, PNC Park. To give everyone time to prepare, we have chosen the latest date possible, Saturday, September 30, 2023.

The recommendation is for us to secure a private suite. Benefits include the ability to enter the ballpark at 5:30 PM and stay until the game is over, as well as the ability to watch a post-game fireworks display. Game day tickets, food and non-alcoholic drinks, a private attendant, as well as four parking passes are included with the suite. The estimated cost per person is $200. Alcoholic beverages will be available to purchase on an individual basis and at your own expense.

Note: At this time, we discussed meeting in Mount Washington and shuttling to the ballpark together to utilize the parking passes, which would hopefully eliminate the cost of parking for everyone.

Because of demand for the suites, 25% will be required for down payment, with the balance due one month prior. With that in mind, we are asking for you to make a commitment by Wednesday June 7, 2023. We are aware of the severe time constraints we are placing on everyone, but we feel it necessary because of the last-minute attempt to organize. Hopefully, at the very least, those who are not interested can do so on this site by replying “no” or “not interested”.

Lucille Mullen Howell

       When attending St Mary of the Mount, Lucille fondly remembers living on Olympia Street. After graduating in 1937, she attended Duquesne University and worked in Pittsburgh for a US Steel subsidiary, where she met her husband, Carl. After Carl returned from WW11, they married, had 2 sons, and moved to Florida in 1959. Carl retired after 24 years from Boeing at the Kennedy Space Center. He passed in 2009 after 63 years of marriage.

    Lucille resides in Jacksonville, Florida and regularly reads the Alumni blog. She will be celebrating her 100^th Birthday on August 1^st ,and would love to see wishes from her Mounties. Cards and well wishes can be sent to the address below:
